This is not compati- ble with PreemptMode=OFF. preempt/qos Job preemption rules are specified by Quality Of Service (QOS) specifications in the Slurm database. They key is to drain or down a different node before running reconfig, then after adding the node to slurm.conf and 'scontrol reconfig' the 'scontrol update node=x state=down drain' will crash the controller.
