Webis characterised by massive colonies of Lithostrotion junceum (Fleming) overlain by the larger Diphyphyllum furcatum, Thomson, 1887. Nudds (1975), has suggested that D. furcatum is polyphyletically derived and should be referred back to Lithostrotion, however, to maintain continuity, it is here referred to D. furcatum.
