WebJul 1, 2024 · While irragric horizons cannot always be unequivocally attributed to deliberate management, they commonly improve soils for agriculture by increasing topsoil volume, replenishing soil fertility, and reducing soil salinity. The presence of anthrosols can be used to detect long-term human habitation, and has been used by archaeologists to identify sites of interest.
