Diffusion dithering
The algorithm achieves dithering using error diffusion, meaning it pushes (adds) the residual quantization error of a pixel onto its neighboring pixels, to be dealt with later. It spreads the debt out according to the distribution (shown as a map of the neighboring pixels): The pixel indicated with a star (*) indicates the pixel currently being scanned, and the blank pixels are the previously-scanned pixels. The algorithm scans the image from left to right, top to botto… WebNov 28, 2024 · @Joshua Lamusga, I can't parallelize dithering algorithm, because processing of following pixels depends on processing of previous pixels. But after your message, I realized that I could make neighbouring …

WebWhile the error-diffusion dither produces a relatively high quality image, it is computationally expensive. Hence, when performance is critical, a cheap, ordered dither … WebIn particular, we propose a Conditional Diffusion model for image Halftoning (CDH), which consists of a halftone dithering process and an inverse halftoning process. By changing …
Web2. Halftoning is dithering on a line-based grid. Halftone resolution is defined as 'Lines Per Inch'. It's basically dots of varying sized aligned in a x/y grid. For color printing, as stated, the angle of the grid is altered for each color …
